Bo and I lived in a new apartment off the campus of Miss. St. our freshman year. Bo set the rules here and his first decree was that "Any day with a D in it would be an official party day!"...The only exception would be Sunday, our day of rest." We rented furniture, and adorned the den with bright, neon bouncing and flashing beer signs we were given by the nearby beer distributor with our every purchase. Lastly we made room for one additional item...A #9 wash tub filled with dirt, gravel and water to house "Alfred," Bo's pet alligator! As to the happenings occurring here, I can only rejoice .."That the Walls Could Not Speak!"
The year consisted of numerous "Road Trips," including Biloxi for Spring Break and Gatlingburg, just to hang out with fellow graduates attending UT. Along with following the "Bulldogs" on away game weekends, our travels included a required, monthly New Orleans run. Having led a sheltered life during my high school years, I was amazed as I was introduced to the world of "Wine, Women and Song!" by my friend.
While I could go on for hours recounting our times together, I will simply say... Bo was a dear friend!...smart, funny and one who would stick with you through "Thick and Thin!" I cherished our time together and am better off having known him!
Rozanne was my very "first date" as she agreed to be my partner when our class appeared on Wink Martindale's "Dance Party!" I remember the practice session at the Country Club as she helped me with her "twirl." She was a very sweet and kind person and I considered her as a very special friend. I will always treasure the memory of our "first dance!"
